The nearly century-old practice is both therapeutic and preventative. Pilates provides a low-impact, full-body workout and being aware of and controlling your breath can also reduce stress. Pilates specifically focuses on building care strength and can improve lower back pain. By strengthening the body’s core, it becomes easier to find balance and have good posture, improve coordination, and reduce the risks of falls or other accidents. If you are looking for a new workout routine that can give you a good balance of flexibility, strength, muscle tone and help for a few aches and pains, start with building a strong core in this Pilates basics class.
Instructor Bio: I have three Bachelor degrees—Secondary Education (English), Nursing and Metaphysics. My teaching experience includes elementary, secondary, and university levels. My nursing career included Process Improvement and Clinical Operations consulting with a national proprietary home health corporation. And I transitioned to remote Utilization Management collaboration with hospital treatment teams specializing in regulatory standards. My transition to wellness practice education has afforded me a healthy lifestyle as well as an entrepreneurial opportunity outside of healthcare.
