This trip leaves Wells High school on May 2nd at 10 am we will have a guided tour of the Navy Yard along with the Heritage Museum that has a gallery focusing on shipping history from sail to steam ships and a history of World War 1 and World War 2. This will be a 90-minute tour with lunch to follow. We will be returning to Wells High School by 2 pm. The cost of the trip includes entry to the Museum and lunch. We will start our trip by meeting at the Wells Transportation Center at 8:30 and board on train # 682. Your experience aboard the Amtrak Downeaster will start with comfortable spacious seating, oversized windows for the best scenic views and stress free travel. Your Boston day trip will be your own experience to explore many areas including the Freedom trail, Boston Public Garden, Rose Kennedy Greenway, and shop at Faneuil Hall and enjoy the spring weather.  We will have a map and information for you to consider for your trip. We will return on train number 687 and should arrive in Wells at 7:08 PM. You will need to make your reservation by March 15, so we can reserve the seats on the train. Come visit the iconic Ogunquit Museum of American Art! Opened in 1953, this gem of an art museum is a hidden treasure on Shore Road. The museum boasts five art galleries, three acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with sculptures and an unrivaled view of Narrow Cove and the Atlantic Ocean.  We will leave Wells High School at 9:45 and return at 11:45. No lunch is included in price, however the group will have an opportunity to dine together at their own expense. Instructor: Gayle McIntyre

Moose Safari Adventure

For those who live in Maine and never got to experience up close and personal with a moose this is your chance.  We leave Wells High School and before we head up Maine, we will be going to the Maine Coastal Botanical Gardens in Boothby. This is the last week in May and the gardens will be in bloom.  Our next stop will be Moose lodge where you will have a lovely dinner and hit the bed early as the tour leaves at 5:00 a.m.  (No that is not a misprint) it is a 4 hour tour watching the moose.  We head back to the lodge to collect our things and out to breakfast then we will be heading back home we will stop for lunch. The price of the trip is $425.00 per person double occupancy.  This price includes meals, lodging and events. Instructor: Lynne Longworth
